Dolores Hairston

Aug. 10, 1935 — March 6, 2018

Dolores Catherine Hairston, 82, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at her residence. The Lawrence County native was born Aug. 10, 1935, a daughter of the late Charles and Mettice Gearhart White. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell M. Hairston, who passed away in January 1996.
Mrs. Hairston was a 1952 graduate of Rock Hill High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree in education from Ohio University. She was a former teacher for the Rock Hill School District for 36 years, retiring in 1997. She was a member of the Lawrence Furnace Church, where she was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary and a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Emerson White and Fletcher White; a sister, Eileen Stamper; and an infant sister, Eva White.
She is survived by three sons, Michael (Sharon) Hairston, Wesley (Lisa) Hairston and Jeffrey (Andrea) Hairston, all of Ironton; nine grandchildren, Craig (Noel) Hairston, Meagan (Josh) Joseph, Stephanie (Brent) Owens, Brianna (Paul Saunders) Hairston, Braedan Hairston, Sydney Hairston, Jordan Hairston, Jill Hairston and Jeremy Holtzapel; three great-grandchildren, Hadley Hairston, Campbell Hairston and Averie Owens; a close friend, Lois DeAutremont; and a sister-in-law, Georgia Triplett, of Ironton.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Jim Lee Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Ironton, and visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Terri Jo Hall

Terri Jo Hall, 44, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018. The Ironton native was born June 2, 1973, a daughter of James Edward Hall and the late Sandra K. Wise.
Terri was a 1992 graduate of Ironton High School as well as a graduate of Bellefonte Beauty Academy of Russell, Kentucky. She worked as a cosmetologist and nail technician. Terri attended Greenup First Baptist Church. She loved photography, writing poetry, and was a people person who loved spending time with her family, friends and her cats.
She is survived by a daughter, Brooke Lege, of Flatwoods, Kentucky; two sisters, Tammy (Bob) Nolan, of Raceland, Kentucky, and Tracey (Terry) Long, of Kitts Hill; two grandchildren, Chloe Marie Pelfrey and Elijah Brayden, of Lexington, Kentucky; a fiancé, Mark Collins, of Ironton; a stepfather, Everett Wise, of Ocala, Florida; a stepbrother, EJ Wise, of Ocala, Florida; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Dawn Towler; maternal grandmother, Opal Pierce; maternal grandfather, James H. Pierce; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Ann Hall; paternal grandfather, James O. Hall; and a stepbrother, Bryan Wise.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. James Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Ironton. Jessica Sharrock

May 13, 1982 — March 2, 2018

Jessica Faye Sharrock, 35, of Ironton, died Friday, March 2, 2018, at home. She was born May 13, 1982, the daughter of the late Beverly P. Belville Smith and Roger Sharrok, of Marion.
Survivors include one son, Owen Michael Sharrock, of Marion; her grandmother, Joyce Faye Belville, of Ironton; and one uncle, Richard F. Belville, of Ironton.
Graveside committal service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Community Cemetery with Leon Dalton officiating. O’Keefe Baker Funeral Home, Ironton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Inez Thompson

Inez Marie Thompson, 85, of Chesapeake, died Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence A. Thompson. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington, West Virginia. Visitation will be noon until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
