A bus went off the road on Thursday morning, but no one was injured.

Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Darrin Webb said the bus, which takes students to the Open Door school, was traveling on County Road 181, also known as Hog Run Road, on Thursday morning when it went off the side of the road.

“The bus driver was on a new route and just went off the right side of the road into a ditch,” he said. “The bus sank into the ditch and almost overturned, however, the top of the bus hit a tree and kept it from overturning.”

Webb said no one was hurt but the 16 students on the bus were taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Ironton to be checked out.

“Everyone was transported and checked, but no one was complaining about any injuries,” he said.
