Mabel Lewis

Mabel Lewis, 85, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky.
Mrs. Lewis was born Dec. 2, 1932, in Ashland, Kentucky, a daughter to the late Walter and Ella (Unrue) Cheek. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Lewis, on May 4, 1977.
Mrs. Lewis attended South Point Schools and was a cook for Rock Hill Local Schools, retiring in 2000, after 40 years of service.
In addition, to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son-in-law, Michael Petty.
She is survived by two sons, James “Mike” (Diane) Lewis, of Gresham, Oregon, and Raymond (Drema) Lewis, of Ironton; two daughters, Yvonne Petty, of Columbus, and Sheila (Mike) Kidd, of Ironton; longtime boyfriend, Kenneth Rose, of Ironton; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private service for Mrs. Lewis will be scheduled for a later date. Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton, is in charge of arrangements.
