Sandy DiMarzo

July 19, 1921 — May 17, 2018

Sandy Joseph DiMarzo, 96, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018, at a local health care facility. The Columbus native was born July 19, 1921, a son of the late Antonio and Josephine Krisantio DiMarzo. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Elaine Adkins DiMarzo.
Sandy was a graduate of Columbus East High School. He received two purple hearts and a Presidential Citation while serving in the U.S. Army. Sandy was a former Diazo operator for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers for 32 years, retiring in 1984 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ironton.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph DiMarzo, James DiMarzo, and Sam DiMarzo; three sisters, Francis Yoak, Mickey Puglia and Carmella Cray; stepsons Jack Lewis and Ward Lewis; and a stepdaughter, Sharon Lewis.
He is survived by two step-sons, James Lewis and Tom (Nancy) Lewis, both of Ironton; a sister, Jean Bond, of Columbus; a sister-in-law, Virginia DiMarzo; daughters-in-law Barbara Lewis and Sherry Lewis; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be noon Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home 1004 S. 7th Street, Ironton, with Pastor Eric Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Brodie Malone, 23, of Olmsted Falls passed away on May 14, 2018.
He was born on Oct. 1, 1994, in Chillicothe to Timothy Malone.  Brodie is survived by his parents, Timothy and Sheila (Wells) Malone; grandparents Mary Lou Malone and Ken and Della Wells; and siblings Valerie (Shawn) McDaniel, Blake (Ali) Edwards and Adam Malone.
