Carla Brice, 68, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018. Carla was born May 7, 1950, the daughter of Greta Brice Hayes and the late Thomas Hayes Sr.
Carla was a 1968 graduate of Ironton High School, retired from AT&T with over 25 years of service, and was a certified home health aide. Carla was a member of Jerusalem Christian Center, where she served on the board of directors. Carla was blessed to work in the helps ministry, where she visited the sick and shut in, the elderly and the nursing homes. Carla could often be found at the food pantry collecting and making care packages, and delivering them to those in need. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and would always share with the community.
Carla is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Hayes Sr.; sister, Theresa Hayes; and grandparents, William and Ruth Brice.
She is survived by her mother, Greta Hayes, of Ironton; son, Robert (Jeannie) Brice, of Catlettsburg, Kentucky; daughter, Kathy Brown, of Columbus; brothers, Allen Brice (A.W./Moints) and Rodney (Donna) Hayes, of Ironton, and Thomas Hayes Jr., of Columbus; grandchildren, Major, Demetrius, Aaliyah, Kaitlyn, Bryce, Hildra and Tillesia; great-grandchildren, Marley, Elijah and Axel; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Carla will be greatly missed.
