Helen Gollihugh

Helen L. Stapleton Gollihugh, 86, of Ohio Furnace, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Scioto County native was born Oct. 22, 1932, a daughter of the late Charles and Nella Barker Stapleton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Wesley Gollihugh.
Helen was a 1952 graduate of Green Township High School and a former employee of Rollyson’s in South Point. She was a member of Ohio Furnace Enterprise Baptist Church and attended Franklin Furnace Independent Baptist Church. Helen was the last of her 10 brothers and sisters.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Brian Gollihugh; and a granddaughter, Sarah Gollihugh.
She is survived by a daughter, Connie (Grant) Campbell, of Wheelersburg; three grandchildren, Shelli (Tom) Waltz, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Jeremy Gollihugh and Jacob Gollihugh, both of Ironton; and a daughter-in-law, Janette Gollihugh, of Ironton.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Buckeye Cemetery with pastor Gary Arthurs officiating. There will be no visitation, and the public is to meet at the cemetery. Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, is assisting the family with arrangements. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Harbor Healthcare for the wonderful care they gave to Helen.
