GALLIPOLIS — The South Point Lady Pointers starting five finished what they started.
The Lady Pointers starting five took care of all the scoring as they beat the Gallipolis Blue Angels 63-35 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Thursday.
Emilee Whitt led the way with 24 points including five 3-pointers. Emilee Carey had 13 points, Maddy Khounlavong and Kate Mundy scored 11 each and Ashley Perkey added the final four points.
Kate Mundy and Khounlavong had five rebounds each. Sarah Roach got five steals and Khounlavong four.
Hunter Copley scored 14 points for Gallipolis (3-4, 1-3) who was guilty of 19 turnovers.
Whitt and Carey each hit 3-pointers as South Point took an 18-11 first quarter lead. Copley had a pair of 3-pointers and Abby Cremeans one for Gallipolis.
The Lady Pointers opened up a 39-24 halftime advantage behind Whitt who knocked down three 3-pointers and eight points by Carey. Cremeans had five points including a 3-pointer.
Khounlavong scored six points in the third quarter as South Pont extended its lead to 52-30 and coasted the rest of the way.
On Monday, South Point hosts Lewis County, Ky., and Gallipolis visits River Valley.
