SOUTH POINT — Angel “Mittens” Dawn McGinnis, 10, of South Point, passed away Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, in Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va. The Portsmouth native was born May 21, 2000, the daughter of Bruce McGinnis and his fiancée, Mandy Clonch, and Marsha Adkins McGinnis, all of South  Point.

Angel was a fifth grade student at South Point Elementary School and was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Bryce McGinnis of South Point; maternal grandparents, Everett and Sheri Adkins of Ironton and Marsha and Walt Robb of Jackson; paternal grandparents, Bruce and Ann McGinnis of Ironton and Chrystal Fauver of Hamilton; great grandparents: Doug and Susan McGinnis of Ashland, Ky., and Joan McGinnis of Florida and Grant and Ann Montgomery of Hamilton.

There was a private funeral service with Rev. Grant Montgomery officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Phillips Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. It was Angel’s dream to become a vet and help animals.
