Stephen Craddock

Aug. 29, 1948 — Feb. 16, 2019

Stephen Lee Craddock, 70, of South Point, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019. He was born on Aug. 29, 1948, in Ironton. He was the son of the late Bob and Wilma (Freeman) Craddock.
Mr. Craddock was a 1966 graduate of South Point High School and attended Ohio University. He was an independent contractor (school division) for Books Are Fun/Collective Goods in Kentucky and Ohio. He previously worked as a sales representative for Carson, Pirie, Scott, Lima Distributors and Sherwin Williams. He was a member of the South Point Church of Christ. For many years, Steve enjoyed coaching South Point youth sports. He was also a loyal “Buckeye” fan and an avid muscle car enthusiast.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved twin brother, Stan Craddock; and a wonderful sister-in-law, Donna Craddock.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Lois Eaton Craddock; children, Shawn (Tabatha) Craddock and Kara (Aaron) Stratton; grandchildren, Cassidy and Griffin Craddock and Brock and Lyric Stratton; and his youngest brother, Randy Craddock.

Harold Carpenter

Feb. 15, 1958 — Feb. 16, 2019

Harold ‘Steve’ Carpenter, 61, of Ironton, went to be with the Lord, with his family by his side, on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
Steve was born Feb. 15, 1958, in Ironton, where he spent most of his life. Steve enjoyed dirt track racing and just being out in the dirt and mud. Some of the best memories were made at the dirt tracks in the area. It was a way of life for him, his home away from home and his second family. Steve enjoyed working on race cars, supporting the drivers and, most of all, the thrill of the dirt flying as the cars round the turns.
He is survived by his mother, Linda Carpenter; wife, Kim Herrell; sister, Pam Williams (Eric Williams); sons, Nate Herrell and Tim Herrell (Megan Herrell); daughters, Jamie Hinzman (Tony Hinzman), Amy Grizzle (Ashley Grizzle) and Kayla McFann; grandchildren, Wyatt and Gavin Herrell, Blake Bruce, Caleb Hinzman, Brooklyn Wilson, Kaiden Cooper, Tailyn McFann and Kayson McFann; nieces, Dana Baker (Mike Baker), Vincent Keairns, Victoria Keairns, Sarah Moore (Stephen Moore) and Brighton Moore.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Carpenter; granddaughter, Rilynne Hinzman; and grandson, Keidan Bean.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, with visitation beginning at 3 p.m. In true Steve fashion, the family requests casual family attire, “race track shirts” if available. Edward Sheppard

May 17, 1957 — Feb. 14, 2019

Edward D. Sheppard, 61, of South Point, passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019, at his residence. The Ironton native was born May 17, 1957, the son of the late Earl F. Sheppard and Betty Allen Sheppard, of South Point.
Mr. Sheppard was a graduate of South Point High School and a former account manager for 7Up Bottling Company in South Point, where he retired in 2018 after 37 years of service. He enjoyed gourmet cooking, drawing and painting. He is of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Gary Ruben Lawson.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sisters, Kay Lawson, of South Point, and Leigh (Rocky) Tyler, of Eaton Rapids, Michigan; a special aunt, Lela Geswein; and 11 beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with Chaplain Randy Tate officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Annise Berry

Annise Marie Berry, 75, of Chesapeake, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky.

Willard Eplin

Willard Eplin, 84, of Willow Wood, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Anita Carol Eplin.
