Lady Tigers get straight sets win over SP in OVC

The Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers had plenty of contributors as they got a straight sets Ohio Valley Conference volleyball win over the South Point Lady Pointers on Tuesday, 25-16, 25-14 and 25-10.
“It was a great team effort,” said Lady Tigers’ coach Beth Campbell.
On the defensive side, Kameren Arden had 12 digs, Peighton Rowe 10 and Riley Schreck eight to lead Ironton. Devin Forest had five while Mary Beth Burton and Samantha LaFon had four each.
Burton also had four blocks and Schreck three with Lydia Hannan and Forest one each.
Hannan topped Ironton with 18 points including three aces while Rowe had 15 points and two aces.
Burton and Arden added five points each, Schreck three and LaFon two. All four had two aces.
Hannan and Arden did the setting with Hannan getting 15 assists and Arden 13. Forest added one.
Leading with kills was LaFon with a game-high 18. Hannan had five while Burton, Schreck and Forest had two apiece.
The Lady Fighting Tigers are now 4-3 overall and 3-3 in the conference.
Ironton plays at Portsmouth on Thursday to complete first round conference play.
