Fall festival wraps up 2019 First Friday season

ASHLAND, Ky. — First Friday celebrates all things fall as the 2019 season comes to a close and hosts a fall festival in downtown Ashland today.

First Friday closes out the 2019 season on today with a fall festival-themed event. Activities will take place in downtown Ashland, Kentucky on Winchester Avenue beginning at 5 p.m. and running until midnight.

First Friday fall festival will feature fall-themed crafts and activities for children. First Baptist Church will host a trunk-or-treat on the 1600 block of Winchester Avenue outside the Highlands Museum and Discovery Center.

Ashland in Motion will also host a painted pumpkin contest that will take place during First Friday outside the Marriott by Delta Hotel.

The contest will feature pumpkins that have been painted by local artists of all ages.

Artists are welcome to utilize other mediums in conjunction with paint to decorate their pumpkin. Participants may utilize real or artificial pumpkins. 

Participants must deliver their pumpkins to the event venue no later than 4 p.m. today. Works will be displayed on Winchester Avenue outside the Delta by Marriott Hotel.

Awards will be presented to first, second and third place winners in two age divisions: adult division (ages 16 and older); and a children’s division (ages 0 – 15).
