October is the final month of Ironton Farmers Market until next spring.

And on this Saturday, it will be the final free food promotion by Ironton in Bloom.

“Ironton In Bloom will be serving sugared biscuits with cinnamon cooked apples for all market shoppers,” said Ironton aLive’s executive director Sam Heighton. “Also this is your chance to thank Ironton In Bloom for all they do for the beautification of the city.”

While IIB offers the food for free, they ask for donations that go towards the beautification of Ironton. The projects include the hanging baskets around town and trees that are planted in the spring.

Vendors will be set up as usual, with pumpkins, homemade goodies and more.

“Come check out the autumn items, produce, crafts and more at the market,” Heighton said, adding that he thanked the vendors for another great season. The last market weekend is the Oct. 25-26 weekend.”

The market is open Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. or until the goods are sold out.

The Ironton Farmers Market is a project of Ironton aLive and sponsored by Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.

The market is located at Farmers Market Square on Second Street.
