Edward Fayne II

Sept. 8, 1947– Oct. 9, 2019

Edward R. Fayne II, 72, of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia. He was born in Lawrence County on Sept. 8, 1947, to the late Edward R. and Gladys (Sanders) Fayne Sr. He is survived by his husband, Jack Spurlock.
Ed was a 1966 graduate of Rock Hill High School and attended Ashland Business College. He was a retired manager for the Kroger Company. His long career with Kroger started in the Ironton location and took him to several others, finally ending his career at the Russell, Kentucky location.

Ed was a kind gentle soul who lived his life to the fullest and loved being outdoors, taking care of his various plants and flowers. He will be greatly missed by Gloria; Cathy; special friend, Paul; and numerous family and friends, especially his beloved dog, Glady.
A graveside services will be held at 12:15 p.m. Monday at Highland Memorial Gardens, 198 Private Road 1336, South Point, with Pastor Tim Dixon officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-noon at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 S. Sixth Street, Ironton, the day of the service.

Kandee Hamilton

Sept. 12, 1964—Oct. 9, 2019

Kandee Kay (Adkins) Hamilton, 55, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019 at the Hospice House, Portsmouth.

She was born in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida on Sept. 12, 1964 to the late Jim and Barbara (Booth) Adkins. She was the wife of James Hamilton, who survives.

Kandee was a 1983 graduate of Ironton High School and Ohio University Southern. She spent many years as a counselor, a past vice president of the PTA and she loved to read and spend time with her family and friends. Kandee was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Ironton, and also sang in their choir.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Jamie (Ryan) Newsome, of Wurtland, Kentucky; and a son, James Lee Hamilton, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

A Memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Monday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 S. Sixth St., Ironton, with Sister Sharon Bradshaw officiating. Calling hours will be 3 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Carrie Blanton

Oct. 31, 1940—Oct. 11, 2019

Carrie Marie Blanton, 78, of Ironton, passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2019 at a local nursing home facility.

Mrs. Blanton was born Oct. 31, 1940, in Lawrence County, a daughter to the late Floyd and Mildred (Collins) Bruce.

Mrs. Blanton was a 1959 graduate of Rock Hill High School and retired in 2001, after 30 years as a unit clerk for Lawrence County General Hospital. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Brittany Webb; and two sisters, Betty Davis and Elizabeth Lunsford.

She is survived by son, Gary Blanton, of Ironton; two daughters, Terri (Greg) Dodson, of Hanging Rock and Debbie Allen, of Ironton; three sisters, Janet Bowman, Jane Lawhorn and Martha (John) Crance; one brother, Paul (Brenda) Bruce; three grandchildren, Kayla (Jeremy) Moore, Briley Bond and Shane (Marye) Blanton; five great- grandchildren, Roman, Rynlee, Raegan, Ramsay, and Autumn Moore; and a host of nieces and nephews 

Funeral service will be at noon on Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Bro. Dave Schug officiating. Burial will follow in Section P of Woodland Cemetery, Ironton. The Blanton family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home on Monday.

Edna Wilson

Edna Louise (Estep) Wilson, 80, of Oxford, Florida, formerly of Chesapeake, died Thursday Oct. 10, 2019, at The Willows in Oxford, Florida.

No services will be held.

Hall Funeral Home and Crematory assisted the family with arrangements.

Richard Neal Hannon, 36 of Chesapeake, died Thursday Oct. 10, 2019.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home, Chesapeake.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
