Rock Hill boys win district cross country meet; Rock Hill, Coal Grove and Ironton girls all qualify for regional meet

RIO GRANDE — The Rock Hill Redmen are going to take a long ride to run a little more.
Rock Hill won the District 2 team championship and earned a spot in the regional meet on Saturday at Pickerington North High School.
The Redmen have now won the district title three of the past five years.
The Rock Hill Redwomen were fifth in the team standings and also landed a berth in the regional meet.
Leesburg Fairfield had 47 points to win District 1 and Rock Hill had 64 points to take District 2.
In girls’ Div. 3, the Coal Grove Lady Hornets finished fifth and the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers sixth as both teams advanced to the regional meet.
Coal Grove had 126 points and Ironton 163. Reedsville Eastern won with just 94 points.
In Div. 2 boys, the top eight teams and individuals who finish in the top 32 advance to the regionals. In Div. 2 girls, the top seven teams and individuals among the top 28 advance.
In Div. 3 boys and girls, the top six teams and individuals in the top 24 advance.
Rock Hill’s Jasson Aguilera at 17:04.13 and Eli Baker with a 17:16.02 time finished fourth and fifth, respectively, to lead the Runnin’ Redmen.
Noah Wood — the lone junior among the Rock Hill runners — was close behind in the eighth spot at 17:28.18. Brady Floyd at 18:23.58 was 29th and Nick Blankenship at 19:24.11 was one spot behind him.
Freshman Sam Simpson was 33rd with an 18:35.79 time and Blake Waller posted a 20:16.68 clocking to finish 61st.
Aguilera, Baker, Floyd, Blankenship and Waller are all seniors.
The Coal Grove Hornets were led by senior Dylan French who was 23rd with a 17:57.22 times and freshman Elijah Dillon was 26th at 18:07.54 as both runners advanced to the regionals.
Also, running for the Hornets were sophomore Jeffery Sparks at 20:41.39, freshman Jayce Edwards at 20:52.19, senior Luke Ferguson at 21:30.32 and freshman Tyler Nutter at 22:06.10.
Fairland Dragons’ senior Ethan Lafon qualified for the regional meet as he placed ninth with a 17:32.89 time.
The Dragons’ junior Ben Mattan ran a 19:25.41 and was 45th. Teammates Walker Pannell — a freshman — at 20:52.35, junior Clayton Watts at 21:53.47 and senior Bryson Denney at 36:04.64 completed the team’s scoring.
The Symmes Valley Vikings were led by senor Gabe Smith with a 20:50.92 time. Sophomore Caden Brammer ran a 20:58.41, freshman Levi Ross 21:11.26, freshman Braden Corn 21:36.27sophomore Ayden Vissing 23:27.52 and junior Drew Scherer had a 23:06.72 time.
Running for the Green Bobcats were sophomore Lethan Poe at 20:13.24, sophomore Kellen Abrams at 23:25.28, junior Chris Gaines at 23:35.35 and senior Jacob Mattingly with a 27:05.90 time.
In the Div. 2 boys’ meet, Ironton Fighting Tigers’ junior William Harrison ran a 17:45.58 to place 22nd overall and earn a trip to the regional meet.
Ironton’s other runners were freshman Andy Schoener at 21:09.00 and juniors Matthew Sexton at 19:50.37 and Titus Lewis with a 21:55.37 clocking.
The Redwomen had 183 points to place fifth and earn another regional berth as a team.
Rock Hill had three runners among the top 28 finishers led by junior Camryn Miller at 20:58.11 to place No. 11 overall.
Junior Bella Stevens was 21st with a 21:23.28 time and freshman Brianna Reynolds was 26th with a 21:36.13 clocking.
Tru Pancake ran a 24:16.17 and was No. 62, sophomore Ellen Heaberlin was 68th at 24:32.39 and sophomore Ashlie Howard had a 25:14.35 time to place 78th.
The Fairland Lady Dragons were led by junior Emma Marshall who ran a 22:34.10 and finished 39th.
Senior Olivia Leis was three spots behind her with a 22:48.80 clocking followed by junior Emily Carrico at 23:55.24, freshman Isabella Dudley at 25:32.17 and sophomore Kat Flemming at 28:49.20 time.
In Div. 3, sophomore Kylee Thomas was 10th with a time of 21:47.04 to lead the Lady Hornets with senior Sarah Cecil just two spots back with a time of 21:48.29.
Sophomore Ellie Holmes was No. 21 with a 22:15.40 time, sophomore Abbey Hicks 28 with a 23:10.43 time and senior Lauren Holliday ran a 27:09.83 to complete the Lady Hornets’ quintet.
Ironton was led by senor Elli Williams who was 19th with a 22:08.71 clocking and senior Graci Davis who was No. 31 with a 23:24.93 time.
Senior Molly Rust ran a 24:27.51 and was 43rd, senior Callie Thacker had as 25:18.87 time and was No. 58, freshman Anna Davis was four spots back with a 25:27.75 posting, junior Lilly Zornes had a 29:40.32 time and sophomore Abigail Patterson ran a 33:02.37.
The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings had two runners as sophomore Kylee Thompson had a 26:55.87 time and sophomore Abigail Gibson 32:53.89.
South Point Lady Pointers sophomore Marissa Wolfe had a time of 28:27.83.
The Green Lady Bobcats were led by freshman Anna Knapp with a 27:04.85 time.
Sophomore Emily Brady ran a 29:23.13, junior Haley Krieg 31:16.77, senior Anna Etterling 32:25.67 and sophomore Kaylee Christian had a 35:32.21 time.
The regional schedule has the girls’ Div. 3 meet is 11 a.m., girls’ Div. 2 at 11:45 a.m., girls’ Div. 1 at 12:30 p.m., boys’ Div. 3 at 1:30 p.m., boys’ Div. 2 at 2:15 and the boys’ Div. 1 at 3 p.m.
