Imogene Lake

Jan. 4, 1925— Nov. 1, 2019

Imogene Melissa Lake, 94, of Ironton, passed away Friday, Nov. 1, 2019 at Kings Daughter’s Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 4, 1925 in Lawrence County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Adeline White and Andrew Skaggs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lake; one daughter, Doris Cooper; one son, Hobert Lake; one granddaughter, Christy Brown; two sisters, Edna Morris and Beona Nancy Osborne; and three brothers, Robert Skaggs, Denver Skaggs and Hobert Skaggs.

Imogene was retired, but worked at the Patio in Ironton, AMVETS and Corner Lounge in Ironton, and was of the Baptist Faith. She was a member of Moose Lodge, VFW and AMVETS.

She is survived by her two sons, Thomas (Marge) Lake, of Fostoria and James Lake, of Marion; two sisters, Mary Ann White, of Marion, and Gertrude (Dave) Bundy, of Marion; one brother, Elmer White, of Ironton; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many great friends.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with Rev. Jason Caudill officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Ora Carter

Ora Lee Carter, 51, of Coal Grove, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019 at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Community Cemetery, State Route 243, Coal Grove. Visitation will be held 1–2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

JoAnn Hacker

JoAnn Hacker, 84, of Proctorville, died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019 at The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia.

No services will be held.
