Belinda Trapp

July 3, 1964– Oct. 31, 2019

Belinda Kay Trapp, 55, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky.

Belinda was born July 3, 1964, in Ironton, a daughter to Tedd VanHorn and the late Linda (Easterling) VanHorn. She is survived by her husband, Gary L. Trapp.

Belinda was a graduate of Ironton High School and was an EMT for Lawrence County EMS. She was a member of Christian Faith Outreach Church and she enjoyed going to church. She had a loving heart that often led to her taking in a lot of children to try and help them.

Belinda enjoyed spending time with her family, horseback riding and white water rafting, you could often see her riding around on her golf cart.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Scott (Jennifer) Sharp, of Raceland, Kentucky;  a daughter, Leanna (Brian) Akers, of Ironton; two brothers, Richard Sharp, of Ironton and Greg (Missy) VanHorn, of Kitts Hill; four daughters, Kaylee Kelley, Kylee Kelley, Karlee Sharp and Kennede Sharp;  three sisters; six grandchildren; and a host of family and friends who will miss her.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019 at Christian Faith Outreach Church, 2700 Herman Avenue, Ashland, Kentucky.

Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jill Shotsky

Jill Watts Shotsky, 74, of Coal Grove, died on Oct. 31, 2019.

Graveside service will be conducted by Pastor Jim Beals at Zoar Cemetery 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jill’s memory to the American Cancer Society or your local animal shelter.
