Sharon Walls

Sharon Lee Walls, 62, of Kitts Hill, passed away Monday, May 18, 2020, at St. Mary’s Medical Center Ironton Campus.

 

Mrs. Walls was born Oct. 6, 1957 in Campbell, Kentucky; a daughter to the late Frank and Edna Mae (Deaton) Sumpter.

 

She is survived by her husband, Roger Walls, whom she married Oct. 11, 1980.

 

Sharon was a graduate of Newport Kentucky High School and was a retired home health aide for American Med-Ex. After retiring in 2002, she enjoyed being a homemaker.

 

Sharon enjoyed sewing, crocheting, talking on the phone, gardening, flowers and she loved singing religious songs.

 

Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

 

She was of the Baptist faith.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Roxie Sumpter and Baby Lesley.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter, Sabrina (Shannon) Dilley of Kitts Hill; son, Roger (Mary) Walls Jr., of Kitts Hill; granddaughter, Grace Dilley; brother, Frankie Sumpter, of Corinth, Kentucky; sister, Annette Sumpter, of Corinth, Kentucky; aunt, Mavis Sebastian, of Kentucky; cousins, Earlen Ritter and Patti Florence, of Kentucky; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral service will be 3,00 P.M. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Rev. Leon Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in Mamre Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday 1 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.
