Pastors and other clergy members do a lot of counseling for the community.

Much of their time is spent in hospitals with the sick, or grieving with families who have lost loved ones, or in marriage counseling sessions helping couples to work out their problems.

But who counsels the pastors?

Ironton First Church of the Nazarene will be hosting the Focus on the Family Pastor and Spouse Gathering to address the pressures and issues that people in the ministry encounter. The seminar will be on Saturday, Sept. 11.

Rev. H.B. London Jr., vice president of Church and Clergy Outreach for Focus on the Family, will be giving the seminar. He has been ministering for 31 years and has been with Focus on the family since 1991.

Pastor Robert Hale of Ironton First Church of the Nazarene said he is very excited to have Rev. Hale come to the area.

“It’s really a big deal,” he said. “We just love H.B. London.”

Hale also said that they use Focus on the Family materials at his church regularly.

The seminar is open to anyone in a church leadership role as well as their spouses.

“It will give them encouragement and tools to sharpen their skills,” said Hale.

The seminar is free and attendees will receive some helpful resources from Focus on the Family. A continental breakfast will also be served.

Breakfast will start at 8:30 a.m. and the seminar will begin at 9:15 a.m.

London will also be at Ironton First Church of the Nazarene for its revival.

He will be giving the sermon on Friday, Sept. 10, 7 p.m. as well as on the Saturday of the seminar. He will also give the sermon on that Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
