VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Emma Anne Vogel, 79, of Virginia Beach, died Thursday, May 26, 2011, at home. A native of Coreyville, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Pierce and the widow of D’Armand C. Vogel. She was a retired registered nurse and an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints.

She is survived by her two daughters, Emily Townsend and husband, Robert, and Beth Hartley; two sons, Charles Vogel and wife, Jackie, and Jim Vogel and wife, Kathy; a brother, James Pierce; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Orville Hall.

A funeral service was held Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mrs. Vogel will be taken to Mount Macrina Cemetery in Uniontown, Pa., for burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Church Missionary Fund. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
