Traffic stop yields illegal drugs

A traffic stop Sunday on Lorain Street in Ironton netted an assortment of illegal pills and resulted in the arrest of a Kitts Hill man.

Roger H. Sexton, 39, was charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired, possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. He was taken to the Lawrence County Jail.

According to information from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a trooper stopped a vehicle for a defect violation in the early morning hours and found Sexton driving while impaired. At that time, the trooper found drug paraphernalia in plain view and searched the vehicle.

The search uncovered a small amount of marijuana and an assortment of pills, including xanax, clonazepam, adderall and phentermine.
