PROCTORVILLE — The 67th Annual Achievement Day was held at the Ohio University , Proctorville, Ohio on April 28. The event was hosted by the South Point Homemakers club. Exhibit winners were the following:

Free brown bag concerts at OUS

IRONTON — The Ohio University Southern Campus presents their free Brown Bag Concerts every Wednesday 12:15 p.m. in the Mains Rotunda of the Riffe Center during April and May.

Mother, daughter program set

ASHLAND, Ky. — A special evening for mothers and daughters is planned at Boyd County Public Library on Friday, May 8.

Girls can treat their mom (or grandma or favorite aunt) to a night out for Mother’s Day. The free evening will include pizza, snacks and showing of the 2003 movie, “Freaky Friday.”

The film, rated PG, is about an overworked mom and her teenage daughter who switch bodies and are forced to adapt to the others life for one freaky Friday.

The program takes place after the library closes for the day, at 6 p.m. at the Main Branch, 1740 Central Ave.

Boyd and dads will get their chance at a similar program in June.

Neighborhood Watch meeting set

ROME TOWNSHIP — OICU Neighborhood Crime Watch will have its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Rome Church of Christ. Information on upcoming CPR classes will be discussed.
