PEDRO — Allison Chapman wasn’t perfect, but she was close.

An error with one out in the seventh inning proved to be the only baserunner as Chapman pitched a no-hitter to lead the Chesapeake Lady Panthers to a 5-0 win over the Rock Hill Redwomen Wednesday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

Chapman struck out 13 in recording her masterpiece.

“She was throwing well,” said Panthers coach Aaron Rice. “Obviously, she threw a lot of strikes and had no walks, so she did another good job of being around the plate.”

Chesapeake got the only runs it needed with two in the second inning.

Sidney Boyle started the inning with a walk and Hannah Henderson singled an out later. Casey Kirk and Myky Harmon followed with RBI singles.

The Lady Panthers got a run in the third when Nikki Lindsey doubled and Sarah Mayo singled.

A run scored in the fifth inning when Chapman got a one-out double and Mayo singled for her second RBI.

The final run scored in the sixth on a walk to Courtney Heffner, a sacrifice by Henderson and a run-scoring single by Kirk.

Kirk was 2-3 and Mayo and Chapman 2-4 to pace the nine-hit attack.

The Lady Panthers are 17-0 overall and 7-0 in the league. They play at River Valley on Thursday.

Rock Hill (8-4, 6-2) plays at Fairland on Friday.
