On May 1, Ironton in Bloom will kick off its 2009 “Business of the Month” project.

Last year, the “Yard of the Month” was a great success and will continue this year as well.

Community involvement is part of the IIB plan to plant pride in Ironton. We will visit each business and provide them with a litter grabber and an explanation of the criteria for being nominated and to win the “Business of the Month” award.

Criteria includes a litter free, weed-free property, inviting landscape and window display.

Nominations will be received via e-mail to pvolgares@gmail.com or by calling 646-2199. A panel of five judges with experience in business will vote one business each month as “Business of the Month.”

We believe we will have a great 2009 and look forward to great participation by our business neighbors. “Business of the Month” of May will be announced in early June.
