Ms. Avanelle Perry, 84, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at Jo-Lin Health Center in Ironton.

The Hanging Rock native was born, Dec. 26, 1926, the daughter of the late John P. and Minnie (Griffith) Perry.

She was a graduate of Ironton High School and retired as a clerk from Hills Pharmacy. Avanelle was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

In addition to her parents, Avanelle is preceded in death by an aunt and uncle, Thomas and Lottie Perry; two cousins and Robert and Helen Perry and Linda Perry-Lewis.

Avanelle is survived by one half brother, Jack Bunker of Ironton; two cousins, Janet Smith and Richard O. Smith II, both of Coal Grove.

Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1604 Campbell Drive, Ironton, with Brother Dan Schomburg officiating. The family would like to extend its gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Jo-Lin Health Center. Any donations in Avanelle’s memory can be mailed to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
