Jeffery Ray Jewell, 60, of Coal Grove, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at the Clarion Regional Medical Center in Clarion, Pennsylvania. The Ironton native was born May 2, 1951, the son of the late Raymond Leroy and Ruth Ellen Brickles Jewell. He is survived by his wife, Maria Santos Jewell of Lafayette, La.

Mr. Jewell was a 1969 graduate of Dawson Bryant High School and a site superintendent for Woda Construction Co. He was a member of the Ice Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Deering. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jeffery Ray “Jake” Jewell of Coal Grove; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Curtis Clark of Lewisburg, W.Va.; a daughter, Candice Jewell of Marysville; a daughter, Alexis Jewell of Delaware; three stepchildren, Anthony Z. Kuczynski, Stanley K. Kuczynski and Ziuta A. Blaes all of Lafayette; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Nedra Kearns and Kathy and Lloyd Truesdell, all of South Point; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be noon Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Jenkins and Marty Truesdell officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point.
