LUCASVILLE — There are two key reasons the Lucasville Valley Indians are 2-0 this season: Luke Keller and Blake Yates.

Keller ran for 165 yards, caught three passes for 76 yards and scored three touchdowns while Yates threw for 146 yards and ran for 60 more as the Indians beat the Rock Hill Redmen 41-7 on Friday.

Valley rolled up 398 yards rushing to go with Yates’ passing numbers to give the Indians 544 total yards.

Rock Hill (0-2) finished with 208 total yards including 189 on the ground. Shane Harper ran 23 times for 101 yards.

Will McCollister was 3 of 6 passing for 19 yards, all to Trey Wilds.

Yates ran 11 yards for a score in the first quarter to make it 7-0. Keller scored from 4 yards out in the second quarter and the lead was 13-0.

The Redmen cut the deficit to 13-7 on a 1-yard keeper by McCollister. Wilds kicked the conversion.

But Valley answered with a 29-yard scoring run by Yates and a 9-yard blast by Keller to build a 27-7 halftime cushion.

Keller had a 6-yard touchdown run in the third quarter that pushed the lead to 34-7.

Nate Arnett ran 25 yards for score in the fourth quarter to complete the scoring.

The Redmen play at Oak Hill next Friday.
