For many, Labor Day weekend wouldn’t be Labor Day weekend without the annual Izaak Walton League Fishing Derby.

The fishing event will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the IWLA Lake, off John’s Creek Road in Aid Township.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. The derby will end at 1 p.m. Following lunch, prizes will be given for the biggest fish caught and the most fish caught in all age groups.

The derby is open to the public.
