COAL GROVE — A new fiscal officer in the village of Coal Grove was appointed Tuesday evening at Coal Grove Village Council.

In March, former Coal Grove clerk and treasurer, Diana Wise resigned, and in April, Shane Gossett took over until he resigned in August. At that point, it was decided by village council not to have an elected position, but to make it an appointed fiscal officer.

At Tuesday evening’s council meeting, Coal Grove Mayor Larry McDaniel recommended Larry Dylan Markins to be hired as the fiscal officer and made a motion to appoint Markins to the position.

The motion was seconded by Randy Wise and approved unanimously.
