“We wanted to bring St. Mary’s to Ironton and this part of the Tri-State,” Lisa Hastings, coordinator of women’s health services at St. Mary’s, said. “A lot of our Total Woman members are from this area.”

Hastings said The Total Woman program educates women on health and ways to keep their whole families healthier.

“About 85 percent of women are the decision makers for their family’s health needs,” Hastings said. “When they are healthier, their families will be healthier and it is more likely to make the region healthier.”

Available at the health fair were representatives from the hospital’s breast center, blood glucose and blood pressure screenings, cholesterol screenings, maternity services, flu shots, the Joslin Diabetes Center and more.

Spice of Life catered the health fair.
