Library seasonal programs coming up
The Briggs Lawrence County Public Library is offering seasonal programs along with its programs that are always offered.
The Ironton branch will have a homemade ornament craft program at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 10.
“We will be making wind ornaments,” Lori Schafer, adult services librarian, said. “Bring a four by six family photo that can be cut down to make the ornament.”
There is also an Ohio at Christmas program that is be offered three times.
“It is an informational program about festivals and events that are going on throughout Ohio around Christmastime,” Amy Ward, senior adult services librarian, said. “A lot of people like to travel around the holidays, so we want to give them information and things to do around this time in Ohio.”
This program starts at 2 p.m. The first session is Nov. 17 at the South Point branch, followed by one on Nov. 21 at the Proctorville branch and the last one on Nov. 24 at the Chesapeake branch.
In December there will be a paper snowflake craft program offered at 2 p.m. on Dec. 4 at the Chesapeake branch, Dec. 9 at the South Point branch and Dec. 12 at the Proctorville branch.
The Ironton branch is currently looking for bands and groups interested in playing holiday music in December. If there is any interest, contact Schafer at 740-532-1124. Currently, they have Kelly’s Bridge and the Ironton High School Varsity Singers set to perform.
