Seconded reading of budget amendment to be given tonight

The second reading of an ordinance 15-18, amending the annual operating budget for Ironton, for the fiscal year ending Dec. 31 and declaring an emergency is on the agenda for tonight’s city council meeting.
The ordinance was amended at the last finance committee meeting prior to the last regular council meeting to add the $3,000 line item for Ironton In Bloom to streetscape, after Ironton In Bloom co-chairman Carol Allen originally asked for $10,000. Aaron Bollinger moved to suspend the rules and give the second and third readings at the last meeting, which Bob Cleary seconded, however it did not pass as Craig Harvey and David Frazer voted no. Beth Rist was not present at the last city council meeting.
The second readings of Ordinance 15-15, authorizing and directing the mayor to execute a change order with Southern Ohio Trenching and Excavating, Inc. for the Ironton storm/sanitary separation phase II project and declare it an emergency and Ordinance 15-19, authorizing the mayor to purchase new dumpsters for the city of Ironton, will also be read.
The city council meeting takes place tonight at 6 p.m. in the council chambers on the third floor of the Ironton city building.
