Annual Highlands Museum Victorian tea event set for May 9
ASHLAND, Ky. — Each May, Friends of the Highlands, the Highlands Museum and Discovery Center’s support organization, host a Victorian Tea.
This year’s event is called “The Uptown Abbey Tea” and will be at the Highlands Museum from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, May 9.
“Different volunteers and local businesses decorate the tables with eclectic centerpieces and teacups,” Emily Roush, education and marketing director at the museum, said. “It always features music and this year will also include a hat making demonstration.”
Colleen Griffiths will present the hat making demonstration called “From Haberdashery to Hats” while the tea will be provided by Joan Fraley.
“It’s a fun event that people love getting dressed up for,” Roush said. “Some of the people even show up in period costumes.”
Tickets for “The Uptown Abbey Tea” are $25 and are available for purchase at the Highlands Museum with cash, check or credit card. You can also purchase tickets with a credit card over the phone at 740-329-8888.
