COLUMBUS — Ohio Lieutenant Gov. Mary Taylor, was the keynote speaker at Lawrence County Legislative Day at the Statehouse Tuesday.

Growing up in northeast Ohio, being the first in her family to graduate college, her work on the Common Sense Initiative, challenges that she goes through every day were among the topics she spoke on.

“Every day is a new challenge and every day is a new push,” Taylor said. “Ohio is a great state, but we want it to be a better place. We’ve got to keep pushing and moving forward. That’s what we’ve been trying to do in Ohio.”

Others speaking included State Representatives Ryan Smith, R-93, and Terry Johnson, R-90, and Sen. Bob Peterson, R-17.

Lawrence County Engineer Doug Cade was then recognized on stage for his contributions to the county. Cade is taking a job in Hancock County as deputy engineer.
