Gregory Caldwell might have been the only graduate from Open Door School this year, but his accomplishment didn’t go unnoticed.

On Tuesday, Caldwell’s family and the students and faculty of Open Door celebrated his graduating,

“I’m glad he’s made it through. We’ve been through a lot,” Melinda Seth, Caldwell’s mother, said. “There’s a lot of help at Open Door School and they’ve really helped out.”

Open Door School Principal Kendra Heim said this was the smallest graduation since 2006 and that Caldwell had the choice of what he wanted to do.

“We tuned it to his preference. We just went with a small reception with the school and his family,” Heim said. “He’s really done well since he’s gotten here. He’s grown up a lot and everyone’s going to miss him.”
