“We’re really excited about this event. It’s a chance to showcase our food and let people know about our place,” Stubby Orasco, chef of Frog Town for more than 10 years, said. “We want to show people that we are more of a restaurant, not just a bar.”

Tickets to sample will be available, and depending on what item is being sampled, will range in price from $1-$4. The event is cash only, but there will be an ATM. Admission is free.

“This is a great opportunity to introduce our food to the public,” owner and chef of the Depot Xuan Chen said. We’re offering some unique house specialties. We hand make sushi in the restaurant to order and we’ll have three or four varieties to sample.”

Live music will be performed by Kelly’s Bridge and the Huntington Harmonica Club, sponsored by the Ironton Council of the Arts. There will also be a Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest for children sponsored by the Ironton Artists’ Association. There will be several age categories for the contest.

Registration for the sidewalk chalk contest will begin at noon and chalk will be provided. Drawings will take place between noon-2 p.m. directly followed by judging with winners being posted at 2:30 p.m.

Inflatables will also be provided by BC Tool and Party Rental.

Along with Ironton aLive, several others helped make this event possible including BC Tool and Party Rental, Holiday Inn Express, Printing Express, Awards Plus, Rent-A-Center, Ironton in Bloom, Ironton Kiwanis, Friends of Ironton, Star Center, Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, Ohio University Southern, the Ironton City government, the CAO and the Lawrence County Historical Society.
