The second season started well.

The Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers got past the Coal Grove Lady Hornets in the Division III sectional volleyball tournament on Tuesday in straight sets.

Ironton won 25-17, 25-9 and 25-9.

Jordan Hannan racked up 15 points including 6 aces while D’Laynie Keith had 12 points and Kaylin Easterling 8 points to lead the win.

Lexi Wise sparked the offense with 15 kill while Keith knocked down 10.

Alyssa Lewis and Hannan formed a 1-2 assist tandem. Hannan had 14 assists and Lewis 13.

Lee spearheaded the defense with 7 solo blocks at the net.

Ironton plays at No. 2 seed Portsmouth West at 4 p.m. Saturday in the sectional finals.
