The 2015 edition of the Lawrence County Historical Society Christmas tea continued this past Saturday at the Lawrence County Museum.

“We’ve been doing this now for just under 30 years,” historical society president Peggy Karshner said. “It’s one of the events we do to raise money.”

Those in attendance enjoyed several kinds of tea and homemade scones, sandwiches and salad while taking in the history of several local people portrayed by volunteer models and historical society members.

“Each year we do a style show of different eras,” Karshner said.

Along with the Christmas tea, the historical society also hosts a spring tea each spring, making two annual fundraisers.

Karshner said the historical society is always accepting new members and anyone interested in joining should contact her at 740-867-2723, or Kay Rader at 740-534-9477.

The Lawrence County Historical Society has been in existence since 1988.
