WILLOW WOOD — This year marks the 12th for the Symmes Valley school district’s Walk for a Cure, an event that benefits the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

“We are so proud of our students, the hard work they do and their creative ideas for fundraising,” Amy Ferguson, with Symmes Valley Schools, said.

The relay, which is a smaller of the county Relay for Life, is from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday at the Symmes Valley High School and elementary school tracks with a survivors luncheon for community cancer survivors at 11:30 a.m.

A survivors lap will take place around 1 p.m. at the elementary school.

“This is the most inspirational part of the day and really brings home to the kids what the day is all about,” Ferguson said.
