Seven people appeared in Lawrence County Common Pleas Judge Charles Cooper’s courtroom Wednesday morning on a number of cases.

Ryan Gilmer, 33, of 2095 Clendennin Road, Narrows, Virginia, pleaded not guilty to one third-degree count of tampering with evidence, one fifth-degree count of possession of heroin, two fifth-degree counts of possession of drugs and possession of marijuana, a minor misdemeanor.

Cooper continued the already established bond of $25,000 cash or surety and added a $25,000 OR bond. A pretrial is set for July 6.

Harry Norris, 26, of 405 Eden Lane, Pliny, West Virginia, admitted to community control sanctions violations. Cooper sentenced him to seven months in prison with credit for 22 days served.

Charles Burns, 36, of 1515 S. Third St. Room 10, Ironton, pleaded guilty to one fourth-degree count of trafficking in drugs and one fourth-degree count of trafficking in methamphetamine. Cooper set sentencing for July 6.

Garland Sharp, 26, listed as homeless, pleaded guilty to one fifth-degree count of possession of drugs and one count of possession of drug abuse instruments and one count of resisting arrest, both second-degree misdemeanors. Cooper set sentencing for July 6.

Lowell Ratliff, 34, of 722 Vernon St., Ironton, pleaded not guilty to one fourth-degree count of receiving stolen property and one fifth-degree count of possession of heroin. A $25,000 cash or surety bond was set at municipal court, however, Cooper changed bond to a $25,000 OR in order for Ratliff to continue cancer treatment. Pretrial is set for July 13.

Jerry Massie, 33, of 1719 Campbell Drive, Ironton, denied CCS violations. Cooper continued the case to July 6.

A case involving Matthew Mullens was continued for a suppression hearing.
