Alleged bank robber answers charges

The man at the center of a bank robbery case answered his charges Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.

Michael Crager, 37, of 103 Solida Road, South Point, was arraigned on two counts of first-degree aggravated robbery and two counts of third-degree tampering with evidence, to which he pleaded not guilty.

Judge Charles Cooper set bond at $200,000 cash or surety and set a pretrial for Sept. 7.

According to the indictment, the alleged bank robberies occurred on June 23 at WesBanco in South Point and Aug. 16 at PNC Bank in Ironton.

Crager was arrested Aug. 17 by the Ironton Police Department after tips from the public led law enforcement to a home in Ironton. During interviews with detectives, Crager allegedly admitted to committing the robberies to support a drug habit.

In other cases:

• Billy Darby, 37, and Kelli Jo Runyon, 30, both of 131 Zoar Hill Road, Coal Grove, were both arraigned on a count of first-degree kidnapping of their child from the child’s grandparents, who are the legal guardians.

Darby was also arraigned on charges of second-degree felonious assault, fourth-degree disrupting public service and misdemeanor theft. Runyon was also arraigned on a count of misdemeanor assault.

Both defendants pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Darby’s bond was set at $75,000 cash or surety with a pretrial on Sept. 7; Runyon’s bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety was a pretrial on Sept. 14.

• Michael Wikoff, 37, of 1141 County Road 105, Kitts Hill, was arraigned on charges of fifth-degree theft and misdemeanor theft, to which he pleaded not guilty. Cooper set bond at $100,000 cash or surety or $200,000 property.

Wikoff is also facing charges of first-degree felonious assault and third-degree failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer from an older indictment.

• Jonathan Eden, 42, of 84 Private Drive 8047, Proctorville, was arraigned on fifth-degree counts of breaking and entering and theft from a protected class, to which he pleaded not guilty. Cooper set bond at $15,000 cash or surety and set a pretrial for Sept. 7.

• Shannon Lewis, 34, of 912 County Road 119, Ironton, who previously pleaded guilty to fifth-degree identity fraud and possession of cocaine, was sentenced to six months in prison and a six-month driver’s license suspension.

• Christopher Thomas, 30, of 308 Second St., Ironton, was arraigned on counts of fourth-degree assault on a peace officer, fifth-degree harassment by an inmate and third-degree escape, to which he pleaded not guilty. Cooper set bond at $50,000 cash or surety and set a pretrial for Sept. 14.

• Raymond Jenkins Jr., 35, of 1173 County Road 1 Lot 1, South Point, was arraigned on three fourth-degree counts of trafficking in drugs and one count each of second-, third-, fourth- and fifth-degree aggravated trafficking in drugs, and fifth-degree possession of criminal tools, to which he pleaded not guilty.

Cooper set bond at $75,000 cash or surety and a pretrial was set for Sept. 14.

• Kandas Johnson, 32, of 4182 Hart St., Ashland, was arraigned on one second- and one fourth-degree count of aggravated trafficking in drugs, to which she pleaded not guilty. Cooper set bond at $75,000 cash or surety and a pretrial was set for Sept. 14.

• Lisa Rentz, 31, of 541 Hull Ave., Findlay, who previously pleaded guilty to third-degree tampering with evidence and fifth-degree possession of heroin, was sentenced to four years community control sanctions under intensive supervised probation, STAR, 200 hours community service and a six-month driver’s license program.

• Sarah Cherry, 21, of 1454 N. Calumet Drive, Worthington, Kentucky, pleaded guilty to possession of drugs. Retired judge Richard Walton ordered a presentence investigation and set sentencing for Sept. 7.

• Clarence Blair Jr., 37, of 8467 State Route 243, South Point, was arraigned on a fifth-degree count of possession of drugs and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, to which he pleaded not guilty. Walton set bond at $10,000 cash or surety, $10,000 own-recognizance and GPS. A pretrial was set for Sept. 7.

• Gary Newcomb, 55, of 521 N. Sixth St., Ironton, who previously pleaded guilty to fifth-degree complicity to trafficking in drugs and fourth-degree trafficking in drugs, was sentenced to 12 months in prison and a six-month driver’s license suspension.

• Gregory White, 45, of 224 Delaware St., Ironton, admitted CCS violations and was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

• Leo Boggs, 53, of 121 Brammer Drive, Coal Grove, pleaded guilty to fifth-degree trafficking in heroin. Walton ordered a presentence investigation and set sentencing for Sept. 7.

• Jean Dodson, 35, of 3858 County Road 55, South Point, was arraigned on a third-degree count of burglary. Dodson pleaded not guilty and bond was set at $20,000 cash or surety plus own-recognizance. A pretrial was set for Sept. 7.

• Brandon Primm, 33, of 801 Little Solida Road, South Point, who previously pleaded guilty to fifth-degree trafficking in marijuana, was sentenced to four years CCS/ISP and STAR.

• Charles Johnson II, 27, of 56 County Road 57, South Point, was arraigned on four fourth-degree counts of trafficking in heroin, to which he pleaded not guilty. Walton set bond at $10,000 cash or surety and $50,000 OR. A pretrial was set for Sept. 14.

• Melissa LeGrand, 40, of 54 Private Drive 1006, Scottown, who previously pleaded guilty to fifth-degree complicity to breaking and entering and misdemeanor counts of possession of drug abuse instruments and resisting arrest, was sentenced to four years CCS/ISP, 200 hours community service and treatment at Spectrum.

• Terry Crisp, 46, of 521 N. Sixth St., Ironton, who previously pleaded guilty to one fifth- and three fourth-degree counts of trafficking in drugs, was sentenced to four years CCS/ISP, STAR, 200 hours community service and a six-month driver’s license suspension.

• Joshua Folden, 27, of 1319 Park St. Apt. 1, Huntington, pleaded guilty to a fourth-degree count of grand theft. Walton ordered a PSI and set sentencing for Sept. 21.
