LEAP contract approved

At the Lawrence County commission meeting Thursday morning the commissioners:

• Approved and signed the weekly invoices and certificates as presented by the Auditor’s office.

• Received and filed the Dog Warden Report dated Oct. 1 and Oct. 8, 2016.

• Approved four transfer funds.

• Approved nine appropriate funds.

• Approved and signed the Learning, Earning and Parenting Program (LEAP) contract between the Lawrence County Department of Job and Family Services and Collins Career Center effective July 1, 2016-June 30, 2017.

• Accepted the resignation of Nathaniel Johnson as full-time EMT effective Oct. 29, 2016, and changed status to part-time EMT.

• Changed the status of part-time EMT Deloris Kleinman from part-time EMT to full-time EMT effective Oct. 29, 2016.

• Referred a metal detecting request of Daniel Payne to metal detect on the courthouse lawn to the Prosecutor and courthouse security.

• Approved commission president Les Boggs sign the environmental release for the Demolition Program for BF-16-1BN-1 as requested by Cindy Anderson.

• Motioned for Township Road 236 in Aid Township to be studied before potentially being vacated. The public viewing was conducted Oct. 13 and the public hearing was conducted on Oct. 20.

• Received and filed  the budget commission meeting dated Oct. 14, 2016.

Also at commission, Lawrence County recorder Sharon Hager informed the commissioners of two part-time OUS students working in her office due to two employees having to take some extended time off.
