Trio pleads not guilty in drug cases

Three co-defendants all pleaded not guilty to multiple drug and other charges in Lawrence County Common Pleas Judge Richard Walton’s courtroom Wednesday.

• Travis L. Bloomfield, 18, of 121 Morgan Street, Oak Hill, pleaded not guilty to four third-degree counts of trafficking in drugs, one second-degree count of trafficking in drugs, one fourth-degree count of trafficking in drugs, and one first-degree count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity. Judge Walton set bond at $50,000 OR and $50,000 cash or surety.

• Steve R. Akers, 50, of 18023 State Route 93, Pedro, pleaded not guilty to four third-degree counts of trafficking in drugs, one fourth-degree count of trafficking in drugs, one second-degree count of trafficking in drugs, one fourth-degree count of trafficking in marijuana, one third-degree count of having weapons while under disability, and one first-degree count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity. Judge Walton set bond at $50,000 OR and $50,000 cash or surety.

• Anthony R. Collins, 41, of 19609 State Route 93, South Webster, pleaded not guilty to one fourth-degree count of trafficking in drugs, one third-degree count of trafficking in drugs, one second-degree count of trafficking in drugs, and one first-degree count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity. Judge Walton set bond at $50,000 OR and $50,000 cash or surety.

In other cases:

• Kimberly D. Cochran, 36, of 620 N. Sixth St, Ironton, pleaded guilty to one fourth-degree count of trafficking in drugs and one fifth-degree count of trafficking in drugs. Judge Walton sentenced her to four years community controlled sanctions with intensive supervised probation with 17 months reserved, and ordered her to complete STAR and 200 hours community service.

• Jonathan A. Cole, 38, of 448 Township Road 1105, Proctorville, admitted community controlled sanctions violations. Judge Walton sentenced him to four months in prison.

• Edward S. Holmes Jr., 38, of 211 Orchard Street, Ironton, denied community controlled sanctions violations. Judge Walton set trial for Jan. 17.

• Tabitha A. Colvin, 33, of 721 S. Eighth St., Ironton, admitted community controlled sanctions violations. Judge Charles Cooper set sentencing for Dec. 28.

• Richard E. Ellis, 45, of 607 W. 12th St., Huntington, West Virginia, pleaded guilty to one fifth-degree count of theft of an elderly person. Judge Cooper set sentencing for Dec. 21.

• Charles Hash, 34, of 1545 Lee Street, Apt. 2, Charleston, West Virginia, pleaded not guilty to third-degree unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. Judge Cooper set bond at $25,000 OR and $10,000 cash or surety. Pretrial was set for Jan. 4.

• Destiny C. Rickey, 21, of 1365 County Road 1, Apt. 18, South Point, pleaded not guilty to third-degree trafficking in drugs. Judge Cooper set bond at $25,000 OR. Pretrial was set for Dec. 21.
