The Symmes Valley FFA participated in the District Soils CDE on Thursday Sept. 26.

The event was held at The Bob Evans Farm in Rio Grande and hosted by the River Valley FFA.

The top five individuals from the county soils make up our district team to compete in the rural contest.

The contest consisted of determining the slope of the soil, the landform, surface and subsoil textures, soil depth, what type of drainage is present, and best management practices to consider for soil erosion, compaction, and water quality of four soil pits.

The Symmes Valley FFA placed 10th overall.
