Judges hear common pleas cases

A multitude of defendants had their cases heard this week in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.

• Tasha N. Anewishki, 29, of 6067 A. Kyle Lane, Huntngton, West Virginia, pleaded guilty to three counts of forgery, all fifth-degree felonies. Judge Charles Cooper sentenced her to four years community-controlled sanctions (CCS) under intensive supervised probation (ISP), with 11 months prison reserved for each count for a total of 33 months reserved. He also ordered her to complete STAR.

• Charles R. Burns, 38, of 1515 S. Third St., Ironton, admitted to CCS violations. Judge Cooper sentenced him to 18 months in prison.

• Jackson T. Crabtree, 25, of 291 Township Road 156 N., South Point, pleaded not guilty to one count of failure to appear, a fourth degree felony. The failure to appear charge came from another pending case. Judge Cooper continued bond at $50,000 cash or surety and $50,000 OR.

• Paul E. McMackin, 58, of 207 Compliment St., Coal Grove, denied CCS violations. Judge Cooper set bond at $5,000 cash or surety and $10,000 property. Trial was set for Nov. 22.

• Clint B. Salmons, 25, of 1639 County Road 104, Chesapeake, pleaded not guilty to three counts of breaking and entering, all fifth-degree felonies, and one count of receiving stolen property, a felony of the fourth-degree. In another case, he also denied CCS violations. Judge Cooper set bond at $75,000 cash or surety and $75,000 OR. He comes back to court on Nov. 22 for both cases.

• Normal Fulks, 42, of 115 Township Road 111, Proctorville, pleaded not guilty to two counts of theft, both fifth-degree felonies. Judge Cooper set bond at $2,500 cash or surety and $5,500 OR.

• Franklin Kegley, 39, of 2635 Lincoln Ave., Ashland, Kentucky, pleaded not guilty to one count of possession of drugs (Methadone), a fifth-degree felony, one count of possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, and one count of possession of heroin, also a felony of the fifth-degree. Judge Cooper set bond at $20,000 cash or surety and $20,000 OR.

• Phillip Morrison, 45, of 113 Columbus St., South Point, pleaded not guilty to one count of tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony, one count of possession of cocaine, a felony of the fifth-degree, and one count of resisting arrest, a second-degree misdemeanor. Judge Cooper set bond at $30,000 cash or surety and $30,000 OR.

• Cabell Patmon, 50, of 414 Vine St., Ironton, pleaded not guilty to one count of aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony. Judge Cooper set bond at $50,000 cash or surety and $25,000 OR.

• Eric Roach, 40, of 3410 County Road 37, Scottown, pleaded not guilty to one count of felonious assault, a second-degree felony and one count of domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony. He also denied two separate CCS violations. No bond was set due to the CCS violations.

• Erica D. Anderson, age and address unknown, denied CCS violations. Judge Andy Ballard ordered her to complete treatment at Mended Reeds with 180 days of jail reserved.

• Amanda Blake, 37, of 2739 S. Fifth St., Ironton, pleaded guilty to three counts of trafficking in drugs (methamphetamine), felonies of the fourth-degree. In another case, she pleaded guilty to one count of tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony. Judge Ballard sentenced her to 12 months in prison for each, for a total of two years in prison.

• Jeffrey Collins, 35, of 119 Wilson Court, South Point, previously pleaded not guilty to one count of possession of drugs (methamphetamine), and in another case, two counts of receiving stolen property, one a fifth-degree felony and the other a first-degree misdemeanor. He failed a drug screen, and Judge Ballard increased his bond to $75,000 cash or surety and $150,000 OR.

• Jesse Haney, 39, of 709 County Road 44, Pedro, previously pleaded not guilty to one count of theft of drugs (Clonazepam), a fourth-degree felony. Judge Ballard set trial for January.

• Cody A. Perkey, 21, of 108 Sharon Court, South Point, previously pleaded not guilty to one count of receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony, and one count of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a first-degree misdemeanor. In another case, he previously pleaded not guilty to three counts of breaking and entering, all felonies of the fifth-degree, and two counts of burglary, a second-degree felony. Judge Ballard set bond at $75,000 property, $50,000 cash or surety and $100,000 OR.

• Stephanie Ward, 35, of 2001 Liberty Ave., Ironton, previously pleaded guilty to one count of burglary, a second-degree felony, one count of breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony, and one count of illegal conveyance of prohibited items onto grounds of a detention facility or institution. Judge Ballard set bond at $75,000 cash or surety and $150,000 OR. Pretrial was set for Nov. 29.

• Dimitrie Thomas, age unknown, of 10394 Beechdale St., Detroit, Michigan, previously pleaded not guilty to one count of trafficking in drugs (Oxycodone), a second-degree felony, and one count of aggravated possession of drugs (Oxycodone), also a felony of the second degree. Judge Ballard set trial Jan. 11-12, 2018.

• Caleb Cade, 18, of 2422 S. Fifth St., Ironton, previously pleaded guilty to one count of felonious assault, a second-degree felony. Judge Ballard continued bond at $25,000 OR and $15,000 cash or surety from the lower court. Pretrial was set for Nov. 22.
