Lawrence County Common Pleas Court saw numerous defendants make guilty pleas or admit community-controlled sanctions (CCS) violations on Wednesday.

• Michelle Brammer, 25, of 136 Private Drive 291, Ironton, admitted CCS violations. Judge Andy Ballard sentenced her to 10 months in jail with credit for 67 days served.

• Caleb Cade, 18, of 2422 S. Fifth St., Ironton, pleaded guilty to felonious assault, a felony of the third-degree. The charge was amended from a second-degree felony to a third-degree felony. Ballard sentenced him four years CCS under intensive supervised probation (ISP) with 36 months reserved, ordered him to complete STAR, 200 hours community service and pay court costs.

• Jeffrey Collins, 35, of 119 Wilson Court, South Point, pleaded guilty to two counts of receiving stolen property, one a fifth-degree felony and the other a first-degree misdemeanor, and in a separate case, pleaded guilty to possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony. Ballard sentenced him to four years CCS under ISP with 11 months reserved in each case to run consecutively for a total of 22 months reserved. He was also ordered to complete STAR, 200 hours community service and pay court costs.

• Jackie Payne, 44, of 707 Jefferson St., Ironton, admitted CCS violations. Ballard ordered her to complete inpatient treatment at Mended Reeds with six months reserved.

• Gary Scott, 38, of 124 Township Road 1049, Ironton, pleaded guilty trafficking in drugs (marijuana), a fifth-degree felony. Ballard sentenced him to four years CCS under ISP with 11 months reserved. He was also ordered to complete 500 hours community service and pay a $1,250 fine as well as court costs.

• Joseph Whaley, 27, of 1111 S. Ninth St., Ironton, admitted CCS violations. Ballard sentenced him to one year in prison with credit for time served, and three years post-release control.

• James F. Wilson, 29, of 912 Center St., Ironton, admitted CCS violations. Ballard sentenced him to eight months in prison.

• Mickey R. Wilson II, 29, of 3182 State Route 650, Ironton, pleaded guilty to two counts of carrying a concealed weapon, felonies of the fourth degree. Ballard sentenced him to 18 months in prison with three years post-release control.

• Dimitrie Thomas, 43, of 10394 Beechdale St., Detroit, Michigan, previously pleaded not guilty to one count of trafficking in drugs (Oxycodone), a second-degree felony, and one count of aggravated possession of drugs (Oxycodone), also a second-degree felony. Ballard amended his bond to $50,000 OR, $15,000 cash or surety, and ordered him to be placed in GPS monitoring. Trial is set for Jan. 11-12, 2018.

• James D. Cade, 35, of 710 Marion Pike, Coal Grove, pleaded guilty to possession of drugs (Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone), a felony of the fifth-degree. Judge Charles Cooper sentenced him to four years CCS under ISP with 11 months reserved, and ordered him to complete STAR and pay court costs.

• Andrew R. Curry, 44, of 31 Private Drive 125, Chesapeake, pleaded not guilty to receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony. Cooper set bond at $10,000 OR and $1,500 cash or surety. Pretrial was set for Nov. 29.

• Paul Eddie McMackin, 58, of 201 Compliment St., Coal Grove, pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony, and complicity to misuse of a credit card, a fifth-degree felony. Cooper sentenced him to GPS home confinement for 90 days, and ordered him to complete treatment at Pathways.

• David R. Nance, 36, of 29 Private Drive 125, Chesapeake, pleaded guilty to assault, a fourth-degree felony, and vandalism, a felony of the fifth-degree. Cooper sentenced him to one year in prison with credit for time served.

• Clint B. Salmons, 25, of 1639 County Road 104, Chesapeake, pleaded guilty to two counts of breaking and entering, both fifth-degree felonies, burglary, a second-degree felony, and receiving stolen property, a felony of the fourth-degree. In a separate case, he also admitted CCS violations. Cooper sentenced him to four years in prison with credit for time served.

• Jennifer R. Scarberry, 25, of 1097 County Road 1, Apt. 16, South Point, pleaded not guilty to two counts of trafficking a counterfeit controlled substance, both fifth-degree felonies. Cooper set bond at $50,000 OR. Pretrial was set for Dec. 4.

• William L. Waddell III, 26, of 1210 McGovney St., Ironton, previously pleaded not guilty to possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony. Cooper amended his $15,000 cash or surety bond to a $30,000 real estate bond. He also still has a $15,000 OR bond. Pretrial is set for Dec. 13.
