PEDRO — Yours, Mine and Ours 3.
Okay, so maybe it’s not the third “Yours, Mine and Ours” movie, but it could be sequel as the Coal Grove Lady Hornets used 20 team assists to help beat the Rock Hill Redwomen 67-34 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Thursday.
Kasey Murphy had 16 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. Destiny Dolen had 14 points and eight rebounds while Emily Compliment also scored 14.
Alexis Hall led the sharing of the ball as she finished with 11 assists to go with eight points. Lauren Crum had nine points.
“We had good scoring from the entire team. We did a tremendous job sharing the ball and we had 20 assists unofficially,” said Lady Hornets’ coach Rick Roach.
“Murphy did a great job of rebounding. We did get a little sloppy and fouled a lot. Dolen did a good job on the boards and it was nice to have (Lauren) Crum back.”
Lucy Simpson led the Redwomen (2-4, 0-4) with 12 points and Kyleigh Noel hit a pair of 3-poitners as she scored eight.
Dolen scored six points and Compliment four as Coal Grove took a 15-8 first quarter lead.
Simpson had four points for Rock Hill.
Murphy scored five points while Dolen and Crum got four each and the Lady Hornets opened up a 30-16 halftime lead.
Hall scored eight of her points in the third quarter as Coal Grove extended its lead to 48-26. Simpson was 4-of-4 from the foul line in the quarter for Rock Hill.
Compliment scored eight points in the fourth quarter, Murphy had four and Crum hit a 3-pointers as Coal Grove outscored Rock Hill 19-8.
Maddie Scott got three points and Noel hit a triple for Rock Hill.
Coal Grove visits Lincoln County on Dec. 21 and Rock Hill goes to Greenup County on Dec. 22.
