PROCTORVILLE — Barcus Pools and Supplies, owned and operated by Joyce Barcus, services and maintains pools in the Tri-State Area.

The company, located at 401 State St., offers many services such as restoring old pools, weekly cleaning, water testing and more.

After watching her husband, Grant Barcus, of Barcus Pool Installation, install pools, Joyce saw a need for a pool store in Proctorville.

“Proctorville was growing, and we decided it was a good location,” she said.

Although Barcus Pools and Supplies and Barcus Pool Installation are separate businesses, they work together to “get the job done.”

“He installs the pools and we have the supplies,” she said.

Typically, the store closes from November to April. During this time, Joyce attends seminars and meetings to keep up to date with Hayward standards and certifications.

“We are always anxious to get back in the spring,” she said. “We enjoy the customers and meet nice people.”

Barcus Pools and Supplies started 14 years ago on State Route 7 in Proctorville. Since then, it moved to its current location, and a second location was added seven years ago in Ironton.
