Fairland girls knock off Portsmouth

PROCTORVILLE — The Fairland Lady Dragons were killing it.
The Lady Dragons had 36 kills as they beat the Portsmouth Lady Trojans in four sets on Tuesday in an Ohio Valley Conference volleyball game.
Fairland won the first set 25-15 before Portsmouth came back to win 25-19. But the Lady Dragons won the next two sets 25-20, 25-17 as they improved to 5-4 overall and remained unbeaten in the OVC at 4-0.
Kelsie Warnock led the onslaught with 18 kills. Allie Marshall had eight kills while Bailey Roland and Taylor Webb registered five kills each.
Warnock also had 13 serving points with four aces, Webb 18 points and three aces and Madi Wilson added eight points with two aces.
Marshall finished with 11 blocks and Webb had five blocks.
Lady Pointers win
COAL GROVE — The South Point Lady Pointers made it a clean sweep as they beat the Coal Grove Lady Hornets in an Ohio Valley Conference volleyball game on Tuesday.
The Lady Pointers won the varsity game in straights sets, 25-14, 25-14, 25-17.
The South Point jayvees won in two sets, 25-10, 25-7.
