Water district to have public information meeting Thursday

SOUTH POINT — The Lawrence County Rural Water District will host a special, public information meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the NECCO building located just off U.S. 52 near Burlington (178 Private Drive 19423, South Point). In this meeting, the water district board will announce progress made toward bringing water to residents of the Macedonia Hill region of Lawrence County.
“We encourage all property owners and residents of the Macedonia Hill area to attend this meeting. Officials from various state agencies will also attend. We will make public our status plus answer questions,” said Dr. David Lucas, water district president. “The Macedonia area comprises phase one of a three phase long-term plan to bring potable water to residents of Lawrence County who do not presently have running water.”
The Lawrence County Rural Water District encourages residents of Macedonia Hill to attend this meeting, but the meeting will be open to the public and press.
