PROCTORVILLE — Bombs away!
The Fairland Dragons made an amazing 19-of-31 shots from behind the 3-point line as they rolled past the Rock Hill Redmen 90-41 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Friday.
Aiden Porter led the Bomb Squad as he hit 8-of-14 from behind the arc and scored 28 points as the Dragons (11-1, 6-0) remained unbeaten in the league.
Clayton Thomas had a big game as he hit 5-of-8 from 3-point land for 15 points and Gavin Hunt scored 13 points as he was 2-of-3 on 3-pointers.
Jacob Polcyn was a perfect 6-of-6 on 2-pointers and scored 12 points Both Hunt and Jordan Williams had 8 rebounds while Thomas had 5 assists.
Rock Hill (3-7, 0-6) was led by Brayden Malone with 13 points with Logan Hankins and Braden Stamper scoring 10 each. Stamper had 6 rebounds.
Thomas had three 3-pointers, Porter one and Polcyn 6 points as the Dragons took a 25-9 first quarter lead. Logan and Owen Hankins combined for all of Rock Hill’s points.
Porter and Thomas had two 3-pointers each with Hunt and Nate Thacker getting one apiece and the lead was 49-20 at the half.
Porter sizzled in the third quarter as he made five 3-pointers and the lead ballooned to 72-34. Stamper had two 3-pointers and 8 of Rock Hill’s 14 points.
Zander Schmidt got a pair of 3-pointers and Steeler Leep had one off the bench as Fairland outscored Rock Hill 18-7 in the fourth quarter.
